Liver cancer

Liver cancer or hepatic cancer is cancer that starts in the liver.

The most common types of liver cancer are: hepatocellular carcinoma or HCC  and cholangiocarcinoma.

Based on several factors, your treatment options may include:

• Surgery, partial hepatectomy or liver transplantation
• Tumor ablation
• Tumor embolization
• Radiation therapy
• Targeted therapy
• Chemotherapy

Depending on your situation, you may have different types of doctors on your treatment team: a surgeon, a radiation oncologist, a medical oncologist and a gastroenterologist.
